Cops arrest man on wedding day for frustrated murder

STO NINO,
South Cotabato -– The law may be harsh but it is the law, so the old adage
said.
Rodelyn Estoque,
30 realized thisafter police arrested her long time partner, Rodel, a foreman and resident of Barrio 12, Sto Nino town,right after their marriage at theCatholic Church here on Saturday.
Police
belonging to the Regional Public Safety Battalion served the warrant of arrest
for Estoque who was facing frustrated murder charges.
He denied the
charges but he did not resist arrest, his wife said.
The couple and
28 others just received the sacrament of matrimony and were busy taking photos
at the Sto Nino parish Church when lawmen served the warrant of arrest to the
stunned groom.
Rodelyn said
she begged lawmen to serve the arrest warrant after the wedding reception so as not to spoil a very important eventbut was turned down.
After the
Church ceremonies, we were supposed to have reception at home but everything was
cancelled,” the visibly frustrated Rodelyn later told DXOM-AM Radyo Bida in
Koronadal City.
She
accompanied her husband to the police station.Rodelyn said the family is raising funds for his temporary liberty but
had to wait until Monday to post bail in a local court.
It
was not clear when and where the supposed frustrated murder happened but
Estorque remained quiet throughout the arrest until he was detained.
