Cops remind motorists anew to drive safely after 3 die in highway mishap in Tantangan
KORONADAL CITY - Police authorities in Tantangan, South Cotabato has reminded anew motorists to driver with extra care to avoid accidents that claimed lives and properties.The appeal was issued anew by Police Senior Inspector John Rick Medel in an interview by Happy FMKoronadal Monday following a highway mishap involving two hauler trucks in Barangay Mangilala, Tantangan, South Cotabato at past noon.A Gardenia Bread delivery truck (UMP-514)and a prime mover (CUC-606)collided head-on, killing bread deliverytruck driverBrian Villegas, andhelpersHeronjo Arsolon and Donald Bilbao, all residents of Gen. Santos City.Medel said they were heading toward Tacurong City while the van was heading toward Koronadal City.Quoting investigation report, Medel said the Gardenia Bread delivery truck overtook a motorcycle along a curve portion of the highway and collided head on with the on-coming prime mover truck.Both vehicles were speeding, witnesses said. Ronnie Moncada, driver of prime mover truck,and his helper John Marck Moncada, were both injured.Medel said drivers should always take extra measures to ensure safety of everybody, including themselves.A well-paved Tacurong City-Tantangan-Koronadal highway, sometimes called as killer highway by some motoristshas been the site of previous car accidents that already claimed lives.
