Cotabato village chair faces illegal gun, grenade possession charges

COTABATO CITY – A village official is now facing charges of illegal possession of firearms and violation of election gun ban law.This after the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (CIDG-ARMM), backed by police and Army Special Forces, raided the house of Joven Pangilan, village chair of Barangay Tamontaka 2, Cotabato City Friday morning.Also arrested during the raid were Dodong Pangilan and Usop Kapenda, the chair's relatives.The raiding team seized an unlicensedfirearm and hand grenade.
