BULUAN,
Maguindanao – One year from now, Maguidnanao will have its own call
center that will cater to Arab nations, Maguindanao Gov. Esmael Toto
Mangudadatu today said.

This after he
inaugurated the P200 million worth of mixed used building that will rise here and will house the business processing and outsourcing center for Maguidanao, a
first in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

The event was
graced by Land Bank of the Philippines president and CEO Alex Buenaventura who
along with Mangudadatu led the groundbreaking rite for the building inside the
government facility here, fronting the Maguindanao provincial capitol.

It is
expected to operate later this year or early 2019, Mangudadatu told reporters
of the structure that will be financed by LBP loan of P100 million and the
provincial government’s counterpart of P100-M.

Buluan will
become the call center hub of the region and possibly the country exclusively
for Arab nations, he added, adding that the call center will be manned by
Islamic scholars or Utadzes and workforce with expertise in speaking Arabic.

Mangudadatu
said it is expected to generate more than 1,200 workers who graduated as
scholars of the provincial government.

Aside from
call center structure, the governor said the complex will also house hotels and
commercial spaces to encourage more investors.

Maguindanao
women’s cooperative will supervise the call center building.

With the
complex rising in Buluan, he expects more business establishments and investors
to come over that will create job opportunities for Maguindanaons.

Priorities
for employment will be graduates of our Mag-Peace scholarship program, he
said. Islamic scholars are also given priority to show they are not supporting
extremists.

Buenaventura
said the primary objective of LBP loan grants is to help improve employment
opportunities of the people of Maguindanao.
