MANILA, Oct. 12 (PNA) -- The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday the country will continue to have fair weather and spared from storms in the next two to three days.PAGASA weather forecaster Alvin Pura told the Philippines News Agency (PNA) they are not anticipating any cyclone to affect the country until Wednesday.Pura said typhoon Ompong (international name Vongfong) already left the country at around 1 p.m. Saturday, heading toward southern Japan.Typhoon Ompong was the second tropical cyclone to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this month and the 15th to enter the country this year.PAGASA expects two to three tropical cyclones to enter the country this month.Pura said the next tropical cyclone to enter the PAR will be locally named Paeng. Every year, an average of 18 to 20 storms affect the Philippines.Pura said most parts of the country will continue to enjoy relatively good weather for the next three days.Until Wednesday, Pura said that except for the Visayas, the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will remain to have sunny to partly cloudy skies with possible afternoon or evening rains because of the localized thunderstorms. On the other hand, he noted that the Visayas will experience light to moderate rains due to the effects of the Inter-tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting that part of the country. The ITCZ is considered as a breeding ground for low pressure areas (LPAs) or potential cyclones.Pura said the agency issued a gale warning as strong to gale force winds affect the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon. Fisherfolks and those using small seacraft are advised not to venture out over the said seaboards, PAGASA warned. (PNA)SCS/CLTC and//122.3.136.205/index.php?nid=0
