Farmer shot dead, kid dies in highway mishap

KORONADAL CITY - A farmer was killed after he was shot by a
lone suspect in Tantangan, South Cotabato Wednesday, police said today. Policemen identified the victim as Ronelo Gulanday, 27 years
old, resident of Matimus, Dumadalig, Tantangan, South Cotabato. Investigation showed the victim was shot while standing in front of his house Wednesday dawn. He died on the spot due to a gunshot wound in his chest. The suspect used an undetermined caliber of firearm. The suspect identified as Negro Mendoza, immediately
fled after committing the crime. Police said revenge triggered the suspect to kill the victim. Three days before the shooting, Gulanday and Mendoza had a
heated argument while on a videokesession” in Dumadalig. Meanwhile, a hit and run incident killed a 6-year-old boy in
Tupi, South Cotabato. Arnel Pinto, a grade one pupil of Palian Elementary School,
was crossing the national highway when accidentally hit by a pick up truck,
Wednesday morning. The victim sustained head injuries was declared dead on arrival in a private
hospital. Policemen are still tracking the black pick up vehicle that fled going to Koronadal City after the
incident.
