Gunmen shot, wounded soldier in Midsayap
MIDSAYAP,
North Cotabato – A soldier here survived an assassin’s bullet but his motorbike
was taken by two men riding together on a motorbike Wednesday noon, police
said.
Supt. Reynante
delos Santos, Midayap police chief, said Sgt. Frederick Marimon, assigned with
the Charly company of the 40th Infantry Battalion, was shot and
wounded by two gunmen in Barangay Tugal, Midsayap, North Cotabato at 11 a.m.
He was heading
to the town’s public market for marketing on board his Honda Dream motorbike
when one of two men fired at him in the leg.
As he crashed,
the suspects fired more shots but missed as Marimon sought help from roadside residents.
The suspects
fled with his motorbike.
