Kidapawan execs undergo drug test

KIDAPAWAN CITY
– To show local officials an example and to prove they are not in any way
engaged in illegal activities, Mayor Joseph Evangelista and member of the
Kidapawan City council submitted themselves to drug test.

This is to
prove to our people that their local elected officials are not into illegal
drugs and that our campaign against illegal drugs is serious,” Evangelista said
after undergoing drug test Thursday.The drug test
was done by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)

Evangelista
said aside from the local officials, other city government employees, barangay
officials and students of public schools.

The mayor
refused to reveal when the next drug test would be. He added it will be a surprise
thing and random drug test.

He also
clarified that the drug testing is not prosecutor but aimed at getting rid the
city of drug dependent.Early this
year, two city government employees were found positive of drug use and are now
undergoing rehabilitation.
