KORONADAL CITY
– The Koronadal City government means business as far as implementation of a
local ordinance regulating the operation of tricycle public transport system,
officials said.

City Councilor
Oscar Pagunsan, Sangguniang Panglungsod committee on transportation chairperson, said penalties await operators of tricycles who do not display fare matrix.

A P300 penalty
will be imposed on first time violators, Pagunsan said.

Under the ‘fare
matrix ordinance,’ tricycles can impose additional P2 fare within the city
proper.

Pagunsan explained
that due to the national law on 20 percent discount for senior citizens and
students, the minimum fare within the Poblacion area of Koronadal remained at
P8.

A P5 fare for
kindergarten and school children remained.
