Lake Sebu teacher hacked to death, another hurt

KORONADAL CITY - A public school teacher was killed while another teacher was injured when unidentified man barged inside the victims' staff house in Lake Sebu,South Cotabatoand attacked them with a machete.The incident happened in Sitio Kulusubong, Barangay Ned, Lake Sebu.Chief Inspector JOven Bagaygay, Lake Sebu town police chief, identified the slain victim asJoy Rojo, 24 and resident ofSitio Tinugas, Barangay Ned. Wounded wasJerelyn Lapidez, 27 and resident ofSitio Tafal, also in Barangay Ned.Lapidez is now confined at a private hospital in Koronadal city.Bagaygay said the two teachers were about to sleep in the teachers' staff house when the lone suspect barged inside. Lapidez said she failed to recognize the attacker because it was dark.Bagaygay said prior to the attack, Lapidez had an altercation with an unidentified suspect.Investigation is still going on, police said.
