Magnitude 3 earthquake hit Kidapawan Thursday
KIDAPAWAN CITY - A magnitude 3 earthquake hit Kidapawan City at dawn today in what Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) described as part of previous tremors that hit North Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat.Phivolcs said the quake occurred at 3:26 a.m. with a depth of 1 kilometer and traced 46 kilometers west of Kidapawan City. No immediate report of damages and casualties, Phivolcs said.At 8:51 Wednesday night, a stronger quake was also monitored by Phivolcs in Kidapawan City.It recorded a 4.3 magnitude traced 35 kilometers west of Kidapawan and has a depth of 45 kilometers.All these were tectonic in origin.At 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, a magnitude 4.8 quake hitTulunan, North Cotabato. It was traced 23 kilometers east of Tulunan and has a depth of 8 kilometers.Damages were reported in Tulunan and Davao del Sur area.
