Magnitude 5.0 quake hits Davao Occidental coast

COTABATO CITY -- A magnitude 5.0 earthquake hit the coastal town of Saranggani in Davao Occidental at 5:17 p.m. Monday, the state volcanology office said.In a news bulletin, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), said the earthquake which was tectonic in origin was traced 397 kilometers east of Saranggani town and has a depth of 46 kilometers.No casualty or damage to property was recorded.It was the third earthquake to hit the coast of Davao Occidental since January 23.
