Magpet farmer stabbed dead, almost beheaded
MAGPET, North Cotabato –- A farmer from
a remote village here was stabbed dead and almost beheaded by a father-son
suspects Thursday dawn.
Rogelio Evangelio Pimentel, 38, skylab”
driver and resident of Barangay Basak, Magpet, sustained 14 stab wounds after
he was attacked at about 2 a.m. the victim’s uncle Pidot Evangelio, said.

Office who conducted the post-mortem examination said the victim have wounds
from dual bladed weapon and lagaraw,” a bladed farm tool for harvesting.
A wound indicated the suspects
attempted to behead Pimentel since half of his neck was already slashed.
Evangelio identified the suspect as
Roberto Castor Sr and his namesake son.
One of them was also wounded during the scuffle, Evangelio said.
Evangelio said Pimentel had just
arrived home at 10 p.m. from a drinking spree in Kidapawan City and found the
father-son suspects waiting for him inside his home.
He said the suspects and the victim
had talked about a pawned motorbike. They too had a drinking session outside the
victim’s home. Heated argument ensued
that led to stabbing incident.
Evangelio said they have
information Castor was rushed to a hospital in Kidapawan but later transferred
to Davao City.
