Midsayap PNP arrest 3 in anti-illegal drug drive
MIDSAYAP,
North Cotabato –- Police here arrested three persons, including
a woman, during implementation of Oplan Lambat Sibat” on Sunday, a police
official today said.
Supt.
Tom Tuzon, police chief of Midsayap, identified the suspects as Danny Badria,
41, Eddie Tagacay who yielded a cal. 45 pistol, and Marissa Lazaro.
Tuzon,
who assumed as town police chief on February 15, said the suspects were collared
during police operations in Barangay Poblacion 8.
The
arrest of three suspects came after suspected big time” illegal drug pusher
was also cornered during illegal drug buy bust operation in Barangay
Patindigin. The
mobile phone of Sucat Palakat Esmael, 39, of Barangay Balakayon, Pigcawayan,
North Cotabato, showed the three suspects were his regular clients.
Tuzon
said a total of 30 persons have been arrested since he assumed office, including a man who claimed he was a priest.The
police chief said the intensified campaign against illegal drugs and pushers
was implemented because most if not all crimes were connected to illegal drugs.”
He
cited several cases of rape and acts of lasciviousness which were traced to
illegal drug use of the suspects.
The
period covered also led to confiscation of six guns and a grenade.
During
last Sunday’s operation, police also arrested Jerry Endayla who was driving a
carnapped vehicle along the national highway in Midsayap.
