MILF's political party starts general assembly
COTABATO CITY – Thousands of volunteers arrived in
Camp Darapanan, Sultan Kudart, Maguindanao on Monday to grace the United
Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) general assembly today.
The participants were from various parts of Mindanao who will become
party members and start to serve the country’s electoral process next year when
the draft Bangsamoro Basic Law(BBL), by then expected to have hurdled Congress,
will be subjected to a plebiscite.Former Sulu Gov. Benjamen Loong, also former regional vice
governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), led the delegates
from Sulu.

Sammy Al-Mansoor, UBJP secretary general, said the
assembly aims to educate the volunteers about the Philippine election processes
as well as give them voice as a political party in the upcoming Bangsamoro
government.
