Mindanao bishop calls flocks to suport BBL

KORONADAL CITY - To give peace a chance, a leader of the Roman Catholic Church in SOCCKSARGEN Region appealed to the people to support the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL). Bishop Dinualdo Gutierrez of the Diocese of Marbel, said despite unresolved issues on some of its provisions, a new law creating a new Bangsanoro political entity as a replacement to the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao will be surely passed into law. There are some questions and controversies, I hope our legislators will be able to improve the BBL so that the final one will be acceptable to everybody,” Bishop Gutierrez told DXOM FM Monday. With its inclusion in the Bishop Ulama Conference, Mindanao Bishops were able to meet with the Bangsamoro leaders several times, making them involved in the crafting the new political region. The prelate believes that BBL is the only solution the government can offer for peace. They asked me, Bishop what is the alternative if that is not realized, go back to where it all started, we will continue fighting for one another and people will continue evacuating, so let us support this peace process,” he said.
