Tacurong City Mayor Lina Montilla and ex-Sultan Kudarat Gov. Pax Mangudadatu
TACURONG CITY -Amid controversy
between the Mangudadatu and Montilla clans, former Sultan Kudarat Governor Pax
Mangudadatu said that Tacurong City Mayor Lina Montilla was like a daughter to
him.

issue ni Lina. As a matter of fact sinabi ko pa na susuportahan ko sya sa plano
nya sa 2016. Parang anak na ang turing ko dyan (I have no personal or political
issues with Lina, she is like a daughter to me, I will support her plans for
2016),” Mangudadatu said on an interview with DXOM-FM Koronadal.
Mangudadatu
clarified that there was no conflict between his family and the Montillas although
they belonged to different political parties.
Montilla is
supporting the Aquino administration while Mangudadatu is supporting Vice
President Jejomar Binay.
The former
Governor assured Montilla no Mangudadatu running
for 2016 mayoral elections in Tacurong City.
Sinabi ko sa
kanya, walang tatakbo na mangudadatu sa Tacurong sa 2016, ako mismo hindi ako
papayag. Wala kang kalaban sa 2016 I told her (I told her no Mangudadatu
running for mayor of Tacurong, I will not allow it),” he said.
The perceived political
difference stemmed from the reported refusal of the city government to accept
projects of Mangudadatu when he was still a congressman.
Montilla is
yet to issue statement on the issue.
