NorCot gov't identifies 3 in death of inmate
KIDAPAWAN CITY -- The three suspects in the stabbing to death of an inmate in North Cotabato District Jail have been identified and will soon be charged, officials said.Inmate Ronald Balorio of Mlang, North Cotabato was found dead with stab wounds Monday in a hut inside the jail facility, Jail Warden Jesus Singson said.Jessie Enid, executive assistant to North Cotabato Gov. Emmylou Mendoza, refused to identify the three suspects pending filing of formal charges.Speaking to Radyo Bida Kidapawan, Enid said the three are now under the custody of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) He said the trio admitted to have carried the stabbing of Balorio who was charged for the muder of a teacher and her daughter in Mlang, North Cotabatoearly this year. He allegedly admitted to the crime. Enid was dismayed few days after the incident the BJMP is yet to submit report to the office of the provincial governor.Controversies had been hounding the district jail where inmates managed to escape, prohibited drugs found its way inside the facility intended for about 350 persons but houses about 700 inmates. Last year, the inmates held hostage for several hours one of the guards and demanded from the jail authorities the improvement of facility, increase food subsistence, among others.Meanwhile, Josephine, the wife of Balorio is seeking justice.Speaking to Radyo Bida Kidapawan, Josephine said she talked to her husband hours before the stabbing incident.She said she noticed nothing unusual in the conversation or whether he was being threatened inside or not.Josephine is crying for justice.
