NorCot's 200 OSY now skilled workers

CITY – About 200 students from North Cotabato’s third district have graduated
from the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) of Technical Education
Skills and Development Administration (TESDA-North Cotabato), officials said
today.
Engr.
Florante Herrera, TESDA provincial director, the graduates who are now skilled
and ready to what they have learned from TESDA were from six towns of North
Cotabato.The
government skills training is of great help to the students since many of them
dropped out of school due to financial difficulties.
Now
ready to earn a living, the students were trained welding, electronics, masonry,
carpentry, housekeeping and many others.
As
they march out of the training center, the graduates also brought with the
special allowances and tool kits.
Herrera
explained that STEP aims to help students earn skills through technical
training that will provide them decent livelihood and sources of income.Herrera
said his office is eyeing 700 out of school youth to graduate this year.
