NPAs recruiting minors in North Cotabato upland town - mayor

KIDAPAWAN CITY -- The communist movement in an upland town in North Cotabato is recruiting minors to join the movement, a town mayor today said.Mayor Rene Rubino of Arakan, North Cotabato told DXND-AM Radyo Bida Kidapawan that based on the information gathered during the recent municipal peace and order council (MPOC) meeting, the New Peoples Army are eyeing teenagers to join the armed struggle against the government.Rubino admitted the information was still raw but it was very likely.he said the local government of Arakan, an upland town in North Cotabato known as area of operation of the NPAs, will help educate the teenagers about the dangers of joining armed struggle.Rubino said he is also seeking the help and cooperation of the business sector to address extortion activities by suspected NPAs against business establishments.
