Pikit Church bombing case 'closed,' says PNP
KIDAPAWAN CITY
– Police authorities in North Cotabato have considered closed” the bombing of
a Church in Pikit, North Cotabato with the identification of the two suspects
and filing the case in court, a police officials said.
Senior Supt.
Danilo Peralta, North Cotabato police director, said all the two suspects had
been identified and a second case will be filed at the prosecutor’s office.
Peralta said
the driver of the motorbike was first identified and charged in court.
New
development in the investigation, Peralta said, led to the identification of
the second man who fired an M-79 grenade launcher toward the United Church of
Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) on October 8.
Government
nurse Felomina Ferolin, 54 and Gina Gabilona, 39, teacher, both perished hours
after the blast. Virginia Manolid, 63, also a teacher, expired a week later.
We are now
focused on one angle, the likely motive because of the strong evidence,”
Peralta told DXND Radyo Bida Kidapawan.
We already eliminated
other angles and focused our attention to just one,” he said. He refused to
reveal other details.
Both the
suspects remained at large.
”We say the
case is close because we have identified the suspects and appropriate charges
are to be filed in court so we can secure warrants of arrest,” Peralta said.
