Pikit purok leader hurt in grenade attack

KIDAPAWAN CITY -A purok leader in the town of Pikit, North Cotabato was hurt when unidentified suspects fired an explosive using grenade launcher towards his residence on Saturday evening, local police said. Police Senior Inspector Sindato Karim, Pikit PNP chief, identified the victim as Mantol Mamulindas, 43. He was hit in his knee. Karim said Mamulindas was outside his house, particularly in Purok Sunshine in Barangay Poblacion, when the explosion happened. The victim's house also sustained damages. Karin said the suspect took advantage while the town of Pikit has experienced rotational brownout. Karim said responding military bomb experts recovered from the blast site fragments of 40 mm. Karim said they are still conducting in depth investigation to determine the suspects as well as the motive.
