President Aquino arrives in Maguindanao for MILF decommissioning

SULTAN KUDARAT, Maguindanao - President Aquino arrived in the old provincial capitol compound of Maguindanao to where the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) decommissioning of firearms and fighters.Aquino was accompanied by Interior and Local Gov. Sec. Mar Roxas, Defense Sec. Voltaire Gazmin and Social Welfare Secretary Dinky Soliman and other cabinet secretaries and members of the international community.The president is now witnessing the decommissioning of 145 members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces and 75 assorted firearms as part of the normalization process of the GPH-MILF peace agreement.Aquino arrived at the capitol grounds at 10:25 on board the presidential chopper which ferry him and his party from the Awang Airport.Program is on going at the old capitol gymnasium.His excellency Orlando Cardinal Quevedo, archbishop of Cotabato and convenor of Friends of Peace, was also present. He led the ecumenical prayer at the start of ceremonies.
