SoCot cop in alleged mauling of minor in internet cafe relieved
KORONADAL CITY - A police officer accused of manhandling a minor inside an internet café in the municipality of Sto. Nino was relieved from his post after complaints has been filed against him, a top police official in South Cotabato today said. Senior Superintendent Jose Arnaldo Briones Jr, the province’s PNP Provincial Director said, Senior Police Inspector Virlen Pampolina was temporarily assigned at the Provincial Police Headquarters to give way for the investigation of his case. In an earlier interview with DXOM FM Koronadal Pampolina, said that he was just implementing a local ordinance that prohibits minors from enteringinternet café beyond 12 midnight. The incident happened at past 12 midnight. We would like to know why PSI Pampolina was in civilian clothes, and if he was there to implement a local ordinance, he was supposed to do this with representatives from the local government unit or any concerned local government agency,” Briones told DXOM FM Koronadal Saturday. Police Senior Inspector Joel Fuerte took over the position of Pampolina.
