Sultan Kudarat cops arrest suspected bombers
ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat -- Two men out on a mission to execute bombing and sell prohibited drugs were arrested by alert policemen who received a tip about the suspects' mission in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat province. The two, who were armed with fully loaded cal. 45 pistol, a hand grenade, and several sachet of methaphethamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, were arrested at a surprised police checkpoint in Barangay Impao, Isulan town, according to Supt. Jeofel Siason, Isulan police chief. Siason said the two have hatched a plan to sow terror in the village which was celebrating its foundation day. Siason identified the suspects as Salahudin Emblawa Camino, 27 of Barangay Talisawa Datu Abdullah Sangki, Maguindanao and Nasrudin Mamison Magon, 19 of Barangay, Lagandang, Isulan Sultan Kudarat. One of them tried to pull the hand grenade when flagged down by policemen, Siason told reporters. But alert police officers immediately collared and subdued him, preventing what could have been a bloody attack. The other suspect tried to escape by attempting to pull his motorbike but was also subdued. Siason said the suspects will be charged with illegal possession of explosives and firearms and prohibited drugs. Police and military authorities in Sultan Kudarat have been alerted following intelligence reports that terrorist groups and members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters were to sow terror in the province.
