Surallah, most child-friendly LGU in South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY --The municipality of Surallah in South Cotabatowas awarded Most Child Friendly Local Government Unit, besting nine other municipalities and lone city inthe province. South Cotabato Gov. Daisy Avance Fuentes hand over theplaque of recognition and the P40,000 cash prize in simple ceremonies at theProvincial Capitol covered court Monday. The municipality of Tupi won the second place and Polomolok got the third place, receiving P35,000 and P30,000, respectively, and plaque of appreciation.Aside from the cash prize and plaque, the provincial government has also allotted funds for projects to local government units of their choice. As an appreciation and to encourage other LGUs to do better, Surallah, Tupi and Polomolok are entitled for P1.2 millionproject of their choice,” Fuentes said. The award was given to LGUs in recognition of its vital role for sustainable promotion of the rights of children and ensuring-child friendly governance.
