Suspected carnapper, partner arrested in Sultan Kudarat
KORONADAL
CITY - A suspected carnapper and his live-in partner were arrested during a police operation in the village of Katiku, President Quirino, Sultan Kudarat Tuesday night. Arrested
were Andy Evangelista, 27 years old of Norala, South Cotabato and his live-in
partner Rotchelyn Madronial of Katiku. The
suspects were flagged down by the members of
the Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC) of Philippine National
Police in Sultan Kudarat. SPO4 Elizaldy Bala, the group’s team leader, said that while they
were patrolling the area, they checked the two suspicious looking suspects on board a tricycle. When
the suspects failed to present pertinent documents to the motorcycle, Bala’s group immediately coordinated with policemen
in the municipality of Norala, South Cotabato that earlier alarmed them of the
motorcyle theft incident . After
coordinating with Norala PNP, it was confirmed that the tricycle was stolen while parked
outside the town’s cockpit,” Bala told DXOM FM Koronadal Thursday. Evangelista
who was previously charged with
carnapping cases was a suspected member
of Jun Jun Carnapping Group responsible for the series of motorcycle
theft incidents in various parts of South Central Mindanao.
A
case of carnapping has already been filed against the suspects.
