Tacurong City joins Iloilo's Dinagyang 2015

TACURONG CITY - The Tacurong City government is sending last year'schampion in Talakudong Festival to participate in this year's Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City. Tribu
Manubiaw will showcase the spectacle of Talakudong Festival in one of Iloilo’s
most celebrated tourist attractions—the Dinagyang Festival.

The
tribu’s performance was scheduled for the Iloilo
Dinagyang Ati Tribe Competition on 25 January 2015, at about 8 a.m.along the Dinagyang
Street Parade Route. Tribu
Manubiaw of the Tacurong Pilot Elementary School was the champion in the Talakudong
Festival 2014 Street Dance and Field Demonstration Showdown.

In Tacurong and in our neighboring towns, our
Talakudong dancers are known for their breath-taking performances. Excited na
kami nga makita ini sa mas madamo pa nga tao sa Dinagyang,” said Tacurong CityMayor Lina O.
Montilla.

Tribu
Manubiaw’s travel is sponsored by the LGU-Tacurong City and other supporters.
LGU-Iloilo City also provided financial support to the delegation.

Tacurong-Iloiloand Sister Cities

Mayor
Jed Patrick Mabilog invited Tacurong City to be a guest performer in the
Dinagyang. The invitation came shortly after he witnessed the Talakudong
Showdown on September 18, 2014. Mayor Mabilog was one of the Tacurong City’s esteemed
guests during its 14th Charter Anniversary during whichMabilog and Montilla signed a sisterhood
agreement on September 17, 2014 at the Legislative Building, Tacurong City. Being sister cities, Iloilo and Tacurong vowed to support each other especially
on its ventures on development capability, urban planning, economic enterprise,
investment and tourism, among others.

We
affirm our support to Tacurong as a big brother. We will definitely share our
resources and best practices to this rising city,” Mabilog said after the sisterhood agreementsigning.
