Tacurong emergency team gets emergency vehicle
TACURONG CITY -The city
government of Tacurong turned over Mondaya brand new vehicle to TRACER (Tacurong Responsive Assistance
and Coordinated Emergency Search and Rescue) to make it more effective and efficient in responding to emergencies.Complete with emergency equipment and accessories, the vehicle, worth P2 million, is expected to further improve the
efficiency of the team's operations not just in the city but in nearby
towns. TRACER is composed of volunteers trained on search and rescue and basic
life support.It isa very essential
component of Tacurong's Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council. In
2012, TRACER was recognized as the 3rd Best Volunteer Organization in
the National Gawad KALASAG.National ‘Gawad Kalasag’, which stands for KAlamidad at Sakuna LAbanan SAriling Galing
ang Kaligtasan, is a presidential award given to individuals, non-governmentorganizations, private sector and governmentorganizations, in recognition of their
initiative in helping the Filipino government uplift the standard of disastermanagementin the country.
