Tacurong's BOSS ends, nets more than P10-M

TACURONG CITY –
The Tacurong City Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) has netted more than P10
million revenue from permit application and renewals, officials said today.

In a
statement, Tacurong City Mayor Lina Montilla said the one-stop processing of
business permits and renewals earned the city a total of Php10,094,128.19.

The One-Stop
Shop ran from Jan. 4 to 20, 2016 at the Tacurong City Cultural and Sports
Center.

The City
Treasurer’s Office reported that there were 996 taxpayers who availed of BOSS
services, 77 of which were new applications while 919 were renewals.

Montilla said
there were also 388 permits released to tricycle drivers, 373 of which were
renewals and 15 as new applications.

During BOSS in
2015, which ran longer than 13 days, the city government recorded 1,179
business taxpayers and 733 tricycle drivers’ permits.

This year, the
City Treasury Office, Office of the City Mayor (Licensing Section, Market
Supervisor’s Office), City Planning Office, City Engineering Office, and City
ENRO were present to facilitate the processing.

National line
agencies like Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI),
Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Social Security System (SSS), Philippine
National Police (PNP) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) also participated.

The five
barangays of Poblacion, San Pablo, New Isabela, Buenaflor and New Carmen were
also present to provide Community Tax Certificates.

Now on its
third year, the Business One-Stop Shop is a method implemented by the city
government of Tacurong to simplify and hasten the processing of permits of
businesses and individuals in the city. It is held every year in January.

A trader said
the BOSS has helped a lot in speedy processing of documentary requirements in
terms of time and money.
