KIDAPAWAN CITY -After letting traffic enforcers chased him for almost an hour, an jeepney driver without driver's licensewas arrested at an Army checkpoint hereWednesday. Blah Sandoyogan Camid, 30, was apprehended by soldiers and policemen manning acheckpoint along Barangay Balindog at past 5 p.m. The Kidapawan CityTraffic Management Unit (TMU), in a report to the Kidapawan City PNP, said Camid fled when accosted by TMU officersafter one of his passengers fell and injured while disembarking. The girl suffered head injuries, the TMU reports said. A TMU operative, who witnessed the incident, tried to talk to convince the driverto bring the injured passenger to a nearby hospital. Camid, however, refused and tried to bribe the TMU operative. When the enforcer rejected his offer, the driver immediately accelerated his speed and headed towards the town of Matalam, hitting the TMU vehicle parked beside the highway. This prompted TMU operatives to chaseCamid. After almost an hour of pursuit operations, the enforcers, with help from the Philippine Army manning a detachment along Barangay Binoligan here, apprehended Camid. When asked for his driver's license, Camid could not present one, probably the reason why he fled when accosted by traffic enforcers. On Thursday, the TMU has filed complaints of damage to properties, physical injuries, disregarding persons in authority, and several traffic violations against the Camid now detained at police detention cell.
