KORONADAL CITY - A Japanese multi-national banana firm has filed a P10 million damage suit against adiocesan priest, a provincial board member and environmentalist group for opposing aerial spray in Surallah, South Cotabato.Charged by Sumifru banana firm were Fr. Frank Romano of the Diocese of Marbel, South Cotabato provincial board member Romulo Solivio Jr and several groups opposed to aerial spray and prevented a spraying sortie last week.The local court has given the accused15 days to file written comments on the charges filed against them. We are ready to respond, Solivio told DXOM-AM Radyo Bida Koronadal.South Cotabato Gov. Daisy Avance Fuentes said she was opposed to the means used by those opposed to aerial spray when they blocked the highway and prevented the light plane to take off at the banana firm's air strip.She urged the complainant to bring the case to court.
