KORONADAL CITY – A former village Lupon” member
long wanted for murder was arrested in South Cotabato with the help of
villagers, police said.

Armed with arrest warrants, the members of the
Provincial Public Safety Battalion, led by Senior Inspector Roldan Cabatan,
arrested Leonardo Eguas, 47 alias Nonoy and resident of Barangay Denlag, Lake
Sebu.

Cabatan told DXOM-AM Radyo Bida that thevillagers of Sitio Disiket, Barangay
Laconon, T’boli, South Cotabato alerted the police about Eguas who has been
hiding there for so long.

Cabatan said his team was conducting Internal
Security Operation in Sitio Disiket when residents tipped off the police about
Eguas’ presence.

Eguas is now detained at the South Cotabato provincial
detention and rehabilitation facility in Koronadal City.
