Gunmen execute Ozamiz City radioman

OZAMIZ CITY - A hard hitting broadcast journalist was gunned down by four gunmen on board two separate motorbikes Thursday in front of shopping center here, police said.Senior Supt. Archival Macala,Misamis Occidental Police director,said Cosme Maestrado, host of Ratsada program of the dxOC-Radyo Pilipino,was repeatedly shot by the four gunmen around 9:30 a.m. Thursday.He was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.Macala said initial investigation revealed Maestrado was parkis his car when the gunmen appeared from behind and opened fire.Macala said thevictim had10 gunshot wounds all over his body.A hard hitting radio journalist against corruption and illegal drugs, Maestrado was also running cabletelevision newscast inOzamiz City. Maestrado was with histwo companions, his armed escort and video grapher, when attacked. His companions were immobile as two other suspects poked gun at them.The suspects fled quickly as Mastrados' comrades rushed him to the hospital.
