Pres. Aquino on Mamasapano incidentand ‘Still ferreting out the truth’
MANILA (PNA) – President Benigno Aquino III said on Tuesday various government agencies are still ferreting out what really transpired in the bloody Mamasapano incident that claimed the lives of 44 Philippine National Police’s Special Action Forces (SAF) men on Jan. 25, 2015.”I still have quite a number of questions, and there are various agencies of government tasked to ferret out the truth of exactly what happened in its entirety,” President Aquino said in an interview with the Inquirer multi-media.The President said government investigators are still conducting very intense scrutiny” on the alternative version of what happened in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.”We are looking for witnesses that will prove or disprove certain observations. There is a case being filed specifically for the death of the members of SAF-44 and others,” he said.The President said a meeting will be held next week to get all of the specifics.””I would rather not talk too deeply about the specifics because it might really hamper our efforts to get to the truth of this matter — the complete truth,” President Aquino said
