More people arrested for illegal drug use in So. Cotabato town

SURALLAH, South Cotabato - More and more persons are going to jail here as anti-narcotics agents and the Philippine National Police intensify campaign against illegal drugs.Nine persons were the latest inhabitants of the town's lock-up cell and eventually to the South Cotabato provincial detention and rehabilitation center after they were arrested during illegal drug buy bust in Purok Mainuswagon, Barangay Dajay, Surallah Wednesday.Supt. Benito Seron, Surallah town police chief, andSenior InspectorGerardo Cabredo dela Rosa Surallah PNP led the operation in coordination with the PhilippineDrug Enforcement Agency-12.Seron said the raiding team was to serve a warrant of arrest against Jonas Caguisano, 26 and Helen Lampa, 23, both of Barangay Bual, Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat for charges connected to illegal drug pushing. Seven other persons, including a minor, were in the same house where Caguisano and Lampa live were also arrested.The raiding team recovered several sachets of shabu, including empty sachets which contained residue of prohibited substance.
