Maguindanao cops hunt down village councilman for killing farmer

COTABATO CITY -- Police authorities are hunting down a village councilman who shot dead a resident in Datu Odin Sinsuat town in Maguindanao Thursday afternoon.Senior Inspector Lindsy Sinsuat, Datu Odin Sinsuat town police chief, said manhunt has been launched againstMike Mamasabacolodan,
52, village Kagawad of Barangay Dinaig proper after he shot dead Andamen Bandar, a farmer of the same village.
Sinsuat said Mamasabacolodan and Bandar were last seen talking with each other at about 4 p.m. at the town market place. The conversation turned into heated argument as they parted ways.However, the suspect went home, took his M-16 Armalite rifle and tailed Bandar who was walking home.Inside the victim's home, Mamasabacolodan allegedly shot Bandar twice in the head and body using his M-16 rifle then fled on foot.
Responding police operatives recovered two empty shells for Armalite rifle.It was not clear what triggered the shooting but Sinsuat said the two used to be friends.
