Motorist yields, tells what causes ex-radioman's death

KORONADAL CITY - A man believed to have caused a highway mishap that killed a former journalist and political affairs adviser of South Cotabato Gov. Daisy Avance Fuentes has surrendered to local officials.Chairperson Benedicto Pastera of Barnagay Carpenter Hill, Koronadal Citywhere the accident occurred, said a certain Marlon Diaz surrendered to him and said he and Romelo Meloy Sustituido's motorcycle had collided along the highway which led to the victim crashing on the opposite lane at about 11 p.m. on January 6.Sustituido is 37 years old and resident of Barangay San Jose, Koronadal City.Pastera quoted Diaz as saying that he was driving his motorbike with his son to fetch his wife in downtown Koronadal City when his bike and that of Sustituido collided. Both were going to the same direction.After their motorbikes hit each other, Sustituido's bike fell and skidded to the opposite lane where he was ran-over by two other motorbikes.Diaz's 7-year-old son was also injured and is now confined in a hospital.Sustituido used to work as broadcaster of RGMA radio in Koronadal City until the outfit shut down years ago.
