Despite poll gun ban, 4 persons killed in Cotabato City, Kabuntalan and Aleosan

COTABATO CITY -- Four persons were separately killed by shooting Cotabato City, Kabuntalan, Maguindanao and Aleosan,North Cotabato over the weekend, DXMS Radyo Bida reported today.Two of the victims were from Cotabato City, another in the town ofNorthern Kabuntalan and the fourth in the municpality ofAleosan.In Cotabato City, Reneboy Bacsan, 32, of Barangay Poblacion 5, Cotabto City was shot dead Sunday along Sesame Street, Rosary Heights 3, Cotabato City.Police said Bacsan was walking along Sesame Street when two men, riding on a motorbike, shot him in head. He died on the spot from several gunshot wounds.Responding police operatives recovered empty shells for cal. 45 pistol.On Friday, Abdulrauf Adam Ito, 35, a resident of Purok Magalao, Barangay Bagua 1 was shot dead by still unidentified gunmen along Jose Lim Street.Police said Ito was driving his motorbike when shot by gunmen on board separate motorbike. He died on the spot.In Northern Kabuntalan, Insp. Max Gerodias, town police chief, said farmer Solaman Angking, 45 was shot dead by four armed men in Barangay Damatug on Saturday.Gerodias said the shooting occurred at about 9 a.m. The suspects, Gerodias said, were armed with Garand and M-14 rifles.In Dualing, Aleosan, North Cotabato, Edgar Erongca, 35, a resident of Libungan, North Cotabato was shot by still unidentified gunmen in Sitio Popoyon, Barangay Dualing, according to PO3 Agustin Mamuala of Aleosan PNP.Mamuala said Erongca, a habal-habal (passenger motorcycle)driver, was hired by two men for a trip to Sitio PopoyonResidents in the village told police they heard several gunshots at past 8 p.m.When the police arrived in Sitio Popoyon at about 12 midnight Saturday, they found the remains of Erogca. His motorcycle was also gone.Mamuala said the suspects also set on fire several houses apparently to divert the attention of police authorities.
