Cotabato City cop survives assassin's bullet, another cop arrested for illegal drugs operation

COTABATO CITY - A police officer was shot and wounded Wednesday morningwhile another cop was arrested along with his wife in police anti-illegal drug operation the past two days.Radio Station DXMS-AM reported that Police Officer 1 Sajid Dalild Mua of Police Station 4 was heading for home at past 1 a.m. Wednesday when two men on motorbike shot him.The shooting incident occurred in Bubong Road, Barangay Datu Balabaran, Cotabato City.Mua sustained multiple gunshot wounds in various parts of his body. He is now in critical condition at a government hospital.A day earlier, anti-narcotics agentsarrested Police Officer 1 Soel Talipasan and his wife Suraida Amerilduring anti-illegal drug operation in Cotabato City.Marvin Mendoza, speaking for the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao(PDEA-ARMM), said the raid was covered by a court-issued search warrant.Mendoza said the couple was caught in the act of repacking suspected shabu during the raid. Both were in the PDEA anti-drug watch list.Seized from them were about 300 grams of shabu with a market value of P750,000.Mendoza believed the couple was supplying illegal drugs in the city and Maguindanao province.Meanwhile, in Barangay Balabaran, a 40-year-old man was shot dead by still unidentified suspect on Tuesday afternoon.Police said Mongan Abdulla Alon of Purok Bonsain,Barangay Datu Balabaran died on the spot due to multiple gunshot wounds from M-16 Armalite rifle.Alon was working on a house of a relative when the suspect arrived and without provocation opened fire on him.
