Arrested suspect in Koronadal pawnshop robbery asks for another day in court

KORONADAL CITY - A man suspected of involvement in the deadlyAgencia Brillantes robbery-hold-up has asked for the postponement of his arraignment at a local court here.Misuari Bansil, a 33 year old habal habal” driver from Paglat Maguindanao, appeared in the sala of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 24 Judge Lorenzo Balo, Tuesday. Lawyer Ferdinand Mortejo of the Public Attorney’s office (PAO) and Bansil’s counsel, asked for the postponement of the arraignment because he wanted to study further the case of his client. The trial of the case was reset to December 5. Balo assured that the court willrespect the human rights of Bansil and wanted to ensure his safety. Asked by Judge Balo where he wanted to be detained, Bansil said he preferred to be transferred at the South Cotabato Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center. Balo issued a commitment order for the transfer of the suspect in the said facility on the same day. After his arrest in the boundary of Tacurong City and Lambayong in Sultan Kudarat last November 18, Bansil was placed in the custody of Koronadal City Police Station. Bansil was the second suspect in the Agencia Brillantes robbery hold up incidents that killed two security guards at wounded four civilians.A pawnshop video showed a man in white sweat long sleeve shirt firing at the security guard several times. Police, quoting witnesses,said it was Bansil who fired more shots on the fallen security and took his 12 gauge shotgun on Sept. 18.That video went viral in the internet. Another suspect Kahadaffy Guiamelon who was arrested in Cotabato City and charged with robbery with homicide pleaded not guilty for the crime.
