Some BIFF members attend House consultation on draft BBL - OPAPP

COTABATO CITY – In one of the
public consultations by the House ad-hoc committee on the draft Bangsamoro
Basic Law, it invited some members of the outlawed Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom
Fighters (BIFF).

Undersecretary Joe Lorena, Office
of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP), confirmed some BIFF
members not under Amelil Umra Kato were present in one of the consultations,
mostly from Lanao del Sur.Lorena said some members of the
Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) allied with Nur Misuari but were not
facing criminal charges also attended the consultation.Abu Misry Mama, speaking for the BIFF, has repeatedly said his group will never attend BBL consultations because. Mama said his group will pursue independence as a solution to Mindanao conflict.
