2 die in Banisilan grenade blast

BANISILAN, North Cotabato -Two people were killed while another critically injured when afragmentation grenade they were playing accidentally exploded here onThursday evening, police said. Chief Inspector Bernard Tayong, North Cotabato police spokesperson,identified the fatalities as Romar Ararilla, 15: Benjie Ararila. Critically wounded wasCocoy Allado who sustained shrapnel wounds in various parts of hisbody. Tayong said the explosion occurred around 7 p.m. at the dining area of former Banisilan Mayor Floro Allado's house in Barangay Poblacion. The two died instantly based on the reports submitted by the Banisilan PNP to the provincial headquarter,” Tayong said. Tayong said the trio were in the kitchen and playing the grenade when it accidentally went off. He suspected that the safety lever of the fragmentation grenade was accidentally pulled by one of the victims.
