COTABATO CITY ---- The Lanao del Sur provincial government has expanded its relief operations to far-flung areas to ease the situation of residents displaced by the province-wide coronavirus quarantine.

Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong said Wednesday credit for their continuing humanitarian works should go to personnel of the provincial government, the provincial police office and units of the Army’s 103^rd Brigade.

Lanao del Sur covers 39 towns and more than 90 barangays in its capital, Marawi City.

COTABATO CITY - Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has no new reported confirmed cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) since last week according to its Ministry of Health (MOH) today, April 15, 2020.

As of April 14, 2020 data from the MOH-BARMM shows that last recorded confirmed case was on April 6, a 54 year-old male from Maguindanao.

COTABATO CITY --- A fisherman was killed Tuesday in an accidental explosion of the dynamite he was to use in catching fish in the territorial seas of Hadji Muhtamad town in Basilan.

The Regional Police Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region on Wednesday said the 52-year-old Kareem Jul, resident of a fishing village in Hadji Muhtamad, died on the spot from blast injuries.

His companion, Isnain Alih, 28, who was hurt in the explosion, was immediately rushed to the Basilan General Hospital in Isabela City, Basilan by personnel of the Hadji Muhtamad municipal police.

COTABATO CITY --- Thousands in Basilan stand to benefit from a P35 million worth irrigation project to connect a river straddling through former lairs of the Abu Sayyaf and large agricultural enclaves downstream.

The on-going construction of the P35 million worth irrigation facility, to tap water from a river near Mahatallang area in Barangay Tumahubong in Sumisip town, is a joint project of the National Irrigation Administration and the office of Basilan Gov. Jim Salliman.

COTABATO CITY — Bangsamoro Chief Minister Ahod ‘Al Haj Murad’ Ebrahim has been named as the new chair of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao’s (BARMM) Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

This was announced by Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) Spokesperson Karlo Nograles in a virtual presser on Tuesday, April 14.

CAMP SK PENDATUN, Maguindanao - Police Brig. Gen. Manuel Manalo Abu, regional for the Bangsamoro police recognized the bravery and heroism exhibited by the personnel of Lamitan City Police Station while in the performance of their duty.

COTABATO CITY  – While the military is among the frontliners in the fight against coronavirus disease (COVID-19), it continued its mandate to push peace in its area of assignment in Maguindanao.

On Monday, six members of Dawlah Islamiya terrorist group, decided to surrender to the Army’s 33^rd Infantry Battalion in Zapakan, Raja Buayan, Maguindanao and turned in assorted high-powered firearms.

COTABATO CITY --- The Bangsamoro trade ministry has earmarked P1.6 million for COVID-19 relief interventions. 

In a statement Tuesday, the Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao said its provincial offices will facilitate the relief mission in support of efforts to ease the plight of BARMM constituents displaced by the coronavirus quarantine since March.

COTABATO CITY - The governor of Lanao del Sur wants a “judicious policy” set by the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) to implement automatic price control and peg tag-ceiling on essential commodities in that province.

In a letter to BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Hadji Murad Ebrahim, Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal Bombit Alonto Adiong Jr. said his province has activated its Local Price Coordinating Council (LPCC) to help stabilize level of supply and prices of essential commodities in the province.   

COTABATO CITY --- Barangay folk in Datalblao in Columbio, Sultan Kudarat together improved this week an old spring facility into a water supply system flowing downstream to farming enclaves only via gravitational force.

Bai Naila Mamalinta, chairperson of Barangay Datalblao, said the upgrading of the water system was done through bayanihan effort of local leaders and residents.
