TABANG: Bringing the Bangsamoro Government to the People

COTABATO CITY  - When the Bangsamoro Organic Law was ratified, anticipation poured in with the new bureaucracy in place. How will the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) address some of the most pressing issues in the region? What difference does it have compared to the defunct ARMM? Will it truly address the shared desires of the Bangsamoro?
 

BARMM allocate P158 million for war on COVID-19 

COTABATO CITY --- The Bangsamoro government has allocated P1 million for each of its 116 constituent-towns to sustain its region-wide anti-coronavirus containment efforts.

Lawyer Naguib Sinarimbo, local government minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said Friday they will start downloading the grants to recipient- local government units next week.

Sinarimbo said they have separately earmarked P5 million and P2 million grants for each of the five provincial and city governments under BARMM government, respectively.

BARMM turns over medical supplies and equipment to CRMC

COTABATO CITY — The Bangsamoro Government’s Inter-Agency Task Force (BARMM-IATF) on Coronavirus Disease 2019  (COVID-19) has officially turned over the first set of medical supplies and equipment to Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC) on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 in Cotabato City.

BARMM-IATF Spokesperson and Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Asnin Pendatun, who led the turnover, said these are just the initial support of the Bangsamoro Government for the identified referral hospitals for COVID-19 patients in the region.

Magelco assures consumers of 24/7 power supply during public health crisis

COTABATO CITY  – Power supply in Maguindanao will remain stable 24/7, the Maguindanao Electric Cooperative (Magelco) today said.

Engr. Ashary Maongco, Magelco general manager, said all employees are in their respective work stations to ensure that power supply will continue to flow up to the homes of all cooperative member-consumers.

He said a Magelco task force was created to provide stable and reliable power supply to all of its clients.

“In this time of public health crisis, your Magelco is with you 24/7,” Maongco said.

Basilan gov't handling deportees from Malaysia in quarantine site

COTABATO CITY --- Physicians are watching over some of the almost 200 deportees from Malaysia confined in a quarantine facility in Basilan and tagged either as persons under investigation, or under monitoring.

Reports that reached Tuesday the capitol in Cotabato City of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao stated that the provincial government of Basilan, the Western Mindanao Command and the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region are now cooperating in providing the deportees health care.

BARMM to buy local for relief goods, military plane brings PPE, medical supplies

COTABATO CITY - In order to make the communities productive as the brunt of Covid-19 pandemic severely hit the local economy and the people’s daily grind, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) will embark on buying local agricultural products.

Asnin Pendatun, spokesperson of the BARMM’s Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), said the goods will be bought inside the regional areas as they are all under community quarantine.

BARMM set to give aid to residents affected by COVID-19 crisis

COTABATO CITY -  “The Bangsamoro Government is set to distribute relief assistance to the residents of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM),” said BARMM Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on COVID-19 Spokesperson Mohammad Asnin Pendatun on Monday, March 23, during a press briefing held in Cotabato City.

Pendatun said the relief assistance, which will be distributed this week in Cotabato City through the BARMM’s IATF, are food packs containing 25 kilos of rice, 10 pieces of noodles, 7 pieces of corned beef, 7 canned tuna, 2 cans of sardines, and 3-in-1 coffee.

Police nab barangay exec for alleged sale of quarantine passes 

COTABATO CITY --- The police arrested Sunday a barangay chairman in Marantao, Lanao del Sur for allegedly selling coronavirus quarantine passes to needy constituents.

A report from the Lanao del Sur provincial police office in Marawi City said Cassar Abinal, chairman of Barangay Mantapoli in Marantao, Lanao del Sur, is now undergoing procedural questioning.

No anti-COVID-19 lockdown in Basilan

COTABATO CITY --- Basilan Gov.  Jim Salliman clarified Sunday their island province is under “state of public health emergency” and has not been lockdown as residents have perceived.

“Wala pong lockdown dito sa Basilan. Meron po dito state of public health emergency,” Salliman said.

He said the provincial police office, units of the Army’s 104th Brigade and provincial health personnel shall only regulate the movement of people in all parts of the island province.
