Dog hits shot gun that goes off, kills farmer

Cotabato – A freak accident killed a member of an indigenous community here
after a dog hit a 12-gauge shotgun that went off, police said.
Police identified
the victim as Danny Awan Safi, 45 years old and resident of Sitio El Nofu, Barangay
Lamfugon, Lake Sebu.
Police investigation
disclosed that Safi was busy attending to his home visitors and relatives when
his best friend accidentally touched his shotgun atop a small table.
The firearm
fell on the floor and went off, hitting him in his right leg.
His relatives
thought he only suffered minor injuries and treated him with traditional medicine
but he was bleeding profusely.
Later, he was
brought to the Lake Sebu Emergency Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
