Evangelista issues ultimatum vs. City Health building contractor
KIDAPAWAN
CITY – Mayor Joseph Evangelista warned a private construction firm it will be blacklisted
in the city unless it completes a long-delayed government health project.
JJAL
Construction owned by Antonio Quijano is constructing a building at the
Kidapawan City Hospital but Evangelista said the project would have been
completed last September.
What causes the delay?, he asked.Speaking to
Radyo Bida Kidapawan, Evangelista issued an ultimatum to JJAL construction firm
to complete the project by December 31.
The firm was
chosen by Department of Public Works and Highways after it won the bidding.
Dr.
Teogenes Baluma, Department of Health 12 regional director, said since last
year all DOH funded projects were undertaken by DPWH.
Engr.
Ernesto Camposano, North Cotabato 1st engineering district
construction division chief, admitted to the delays. He explained the demolition job on the old structure
at the Kidapawan City Hospital caused the delay and some plan revisions.
He said
JJAL construction has accomplished 15.16 percent of the project.
