Hataman leads LP rally in ARMM, Maguindanao
COTABATO CITY -- Reelectionist Regional Governor Mujiv Hataman of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) early Monday led a prayer rally here to kick off the region's Liberal Party.Accompanying Hataman were reelectionist Vice Gov. Abdulrashid Lucman, Maguindanao reelectionist Gov. Esmael Toto Mangudadatu, reelectionist Rep. Bai Sandra Sema of Maguindanao's 1st district and Rep. Sajid Mangudadatu of Maguindanao's 2nd district, 30 of 36 town mayors of Maguindanao and other party members. Let us continue reforms in ARMM, let's show to the world we can effectively lead a local government unit through a principled, pro-people and pro-God political party, Hataman told supporters and the people of Maguindanao.After the prayer rally at the ARMM compound, LP party members and leaders as well as supporters trooped to Buluan town in Maguindanao where a bigger political rally was to be held this afternoon.The political rally in Maguindanao came after a similar rally Sunday in Ganassi, Lanao del Sur where least 17 of the 22 mayors in the second district of Lanao del Sur province joined the launching of the LP campaign in the province.LP regional figurehead Gov. Hataman said almost all of the 116 mayors in the autonomous region, which covers the provinces of Maguindanao and Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi, are members of LP.Lucman, a Maranaw from Bayang town, said he and his running mate were given cordial reception at the venue of their first ever regional political activity in the municipal center of Ganasssi by Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong, Jr. and his constituent-mayors.Both Adiong and Hataman believed the region will deliver votes for party presidential candidate Mar Roxas.Hataman said during the Lanao sortie, LP mayors vowed to support the regional peace initiatives in support of President Aquino's peace process in southern Philippines.
