CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – A man in possession of a loaded gun was caught by the Army’s 90th Infantry Battalion at a checkpoint on Monday, November 18, 2019, in Barangay Kiladap, Talitay, Maguindanao.

The suspect, identified as Zaidbunan Esmael, a resident of Barangay Tambunan of Talayan town, was caught with a calibre .45 pistol with 2 magazines and 16 rounds of ammunition.

Esmael was riding a black Honda HRM motorcycle when he was caught at the military checkpoint.

Last November 12, two men riding a motorcycle were also caught carrying a loaded handgun at the same checkpoint.

Maj. Gen. Diosdado C. Carreon, Commander of Joint Task Force Central, said that strict security measures will always be implemented in Central Mindanao as part of implementing Martial Law.

“As a reminder, individuals bringing firearms illegally possessed and without proper documentation are subject to possible criminal charges,” the Commander stressed.

The suspect is now detained at Talitay Municipal Police Station for investigation and filing of proper criminal charges.
