Palace ready to cooperate, work with incoming administration
MANILA (PNA) -- Malacanang on Tuesday said the Aquino government is ready to cooperate and work with the incoming administration, as it assured anew of a smooth transfer of power next month. We are ready to cooperate and to work with the incoming administration,” said Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. in a Palace press briefing.Coloma noted that Aquino government’s good governance reforms will ensure a smooth transfer of power to successors. …All that we have done in the last six years to strengthen our government structure, to empower and to capacitate our government employees have all been geared towards bequeathing or transferring to the next administration a government workforce and a government that is more capable, that is more responsive and that will be more effective in delivering essential services to our people,” he said.Coloma said the Aquino government had been implementing initiatives to improve the systems, procedures and processes in a bid to make these more customer or citizen-friendly. Our successors will find a strengthened bureaucracy that is steeped in the principles of good management as well as open and transparent and accountable transactions with the general public,” Coloma said.He also expressed hope that the next government would continue implementing important reforms and programs of the Aquino administration. Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has maintained his comfortable lead over his rivals for the presidency in a preliminary unofficial tally of election results.
